Illuminating a “Woman’s Place” with Capitol Lighting
Fun Facts: -“Bella Abzug (July 24, 1920 – March 31, 1998) was an American lawyer, Congresswoman, social activist and a leader of the Women’s Movement. She famously declared, “This woman’s place is in the House—the House of Representatives” in her successful 1970 campaign to join that body.”
-Women in the United States were given the right to vote on August 26, 1920 as the 19th Amendment was added to the Constitution; and, due to a resolution introduced by Bella Abzug, every year on August 26th the President of the United States publishes a proclamation for Women’s Equality Day.

-The “Vision” series featuring modern contemporary classic flush fixtures in brushed steel and frosted glass. These fixtures are available in a myriad of sizes to provide excellent ambient illumination for any size kitchen. *
-Fun and functional mini-pendants provide a splash of color and illumination to brighten up your home. Check out “Adele,” “Christie,” and “Melody” available in choice colors and shapely glass configurations.
*To determine the correct illumination required from your flush mount fixtures:
Use the following equation:
1. Multiply the length times the width (in feet) to find the total area of your space.
2. Multiply the product of step 1 by 1.5 to determine the total wattage required for sufficient ambient/general illumination.
For example, in a room that is 14’ x 18’: 14 x 18 = 252 and 252 x 1.5 = 378, so you would need 378 watts in your lighting scheme for sufficient general illumination.
