Learn How to Measure For Your Fixture Size
Often times, you find yourself wondering why the lighting just doesn’t feel right in a certain space. It could be as simple as the proportions are off, such as the lighting fixture is too large for the room. Â
Let’s take chandeliers for example. Â They come in all shapes and sizes, so how do you know how big (or small) of a chandelier is right for your desired area? Â The common rule of thumb to determine the width of the fixture you need is to take the calculation of the dimension of the room. Â So get out your trusty tape measure and measure both the width and the length of the room. Â (Don’t fret, this math formulas won’t send you running in terror!)
Width + Length = X
X is then changed from feet to inches and that is the perfect width for your room.
For example, let’s take a room that is 10′ x 10′.
So 10′ + 10′ = 20 feet; therefore you simply need a chandeleir with a width of 20 inches for that room.
Another key forumla for determining best chandelier size in the dining room is covered in the video below, so take a brief look for further information to help you become a pro in finding the perfect fixture size and placement.
