What is the diameter of the mesh shade at the bottom and also at the top where it screws into the socket? Thanks!

Is this for an island or would it work for a 40 by60 dining table?
BEST ANSWER: Hi, this island fixture can be used as a dining room fixture as well. A dining room fixture should hang about 30" from the surface of the table; it should be about 12" narrower than the width of the table. I hope this information helps.
