BEST ANSWER: Ours got installed into the ground by our electricians. It is still standing strong with no issues after nearly a year.

There are 2 posts recommended for McAdams Post Lamp - 9595 and 9505 - 2 different diameters. Which one fits the post lamp 49274?

Do you recommend the post be installed in pea gravel or directly into the dirt without any concrete or base?
