I am thinking of adding two of these above a 5’ island. Would these be the right size or should I choose the smaller one? My decorator always likes larger.
BEST ANSWER: Hello: Assuming you have an 8' ceiling you would need 3' from the top of the island to the bottom of the fixture for clearance, and spaced 30" apart. Depending on the size of the island, also determines the quantity of the fixtures. They should also be 6" away from the end of the island on each side.

Hi - does this work with an 8ft ceiling? What is the minimum length?
BEST ANSWER: Yes, our ceilings are 8ft and it works fine if you remove one of the sections of chain. It hangs 29 3/4" from ceiling over island. The chain has two solid sections, each about 12", so length options are limited to one section or both. Our contractor didn't have any issue with removing the section or installation.

Is the rod adjustable, can you make it shorter?
BEST ANSWER: You would have to remove a whole section of rod to adjust.
While I loved the look of the rod, because that didn’t work, we replaced it with a brushed gold chain and it looks just as nice.

Is the antiqued brass shade metal or paper?
BEST ANSWER: It is available in either. Visual Comfort allows you to pick both the chain and canopy finish as well as the shade finish. For the antiqued brass canopy and chain finish the shade can either be white metal with a brass interior, natural paper, bronze. or antiqued brass. what is the length of the 15" light with all rods and the shade trying to decide if it will work w 10' ceilings or if I need extra rods
