BEST ANSWER: Yes! WE WIRED IT TO A LIGHT SWITCH ON THE WALL. IF YOU TURN ON THE FAN LIGHT, WITH THE REMOTE, YOU CAN USE THE WALL SWITCH TO TURN THE LIGHT ON AND OFF. YOU CAN USE THE LIGHT WITHOUT THE FAN AND THE FAN WITHOUT THE LIGHT. I LOVE IT!

Does it have a light cap if no desire for the light?

BEST ANSWER: No, there is no light cap. You can turn the light completely off, which is what I do......but no cover to cap off the bottom if you choose not to install the light. Hope this helps! I really like the fan......I leave it on almost all day and all night. Soooooooo quiet!

BEST ANSWER: A remote control is included with the fan for operation of both the light and fan. There is no obvious way to dim using the remote control. I cannot confirm or deny ability to dim by use of a dimmer-enabled wall switch. Probably unlikely since it would affect both the light and fan.
