The Darlana series by Chapman & Myers brings classical proportions into balance. I have been eyeing this light for a while. The price is the best I’ve seen and you tell me it can work with an installed dimmer switch. The other sites say it is undimmable. That didn’t make sense, but this is the only site that clarifies that.

What color are the candle stems (what the light bulbs are sitting on)?

Is there glass on this fixture or is it open to the air?
BEST ANSWER: I think it is open..I know that sounds weird but it is on a job site 3 hours out of town. I'll be down there in about a week and will check. Please email me again in 1 1/2 weeks and I'll be able to answer you.

We are remodeling kitchen. Nine foot ceilings with an island 96” long and 46” wide. Should we use two 12” lanterns over island or go next size up? Thanks
BEST ANSWER: These pendants look larger than I thought they would! We have 2 over a 72” table w/9’ ceilings, and they seem to be the perfect size. I would consider putting 3 of this size over your longer island vs 2 of the larger size.

Is the 12 inch lantern (would be using 2 of them) ok to use over a kitchen island with 8 foot ceilings or should I be using the 9" lantern? The island is 3.5 ft. wide x 8 ft. long.
BEST ANSWER: Hey. I have the 12" lantern in an area with 10ft ceilings so it's rather hard for me to envision your situation. My thought, though, is that you should probably use the 9" lanterns due to your ceiling height. Even though the lantern is simple and has no sides it really is a substantial light in person. Can I hang this without the chain? Our ceiling is about 9 feet so there isn't that much clearance.
BEST ANSWER: You would have to allow a small part of the chain for the bracket at the top of the cage to attach to. A better solution might be to select a smaller fixture and allow it to hang a little lower.

Is this dimmable?
BEST ANSWER: It is. We bought 2 for our family room where we dim the lights for watching TV or when we use the fireplace. We use dimmable candle bulbs and have no problem.

What size lantern do I need for over a table size 75 x 34 with leaf in and 61x34 without leaf. Also, I see it comes with 6 feet of chain...... Is this enough to swag hang and if not, may I purchase additional chain?
